I believe there to be three basic levels of stress in a person’s life and it is important to know what level your at and what action to take for yourself personally as well.

LEVEL 1

At Level 1 little things may be occurring in one’s life and multiple things may be going on in one’s life and these things are occurring over a period of time on a constant basis.

Activities that may help at Level 1 are:

  • Reading
  • Light exercise
  • Coloring
  • Writing

LEVEL 2

At Level 2 a lot more annoying things are occurring at a higher rate and more often.

Activities that may help at Level 2 are:

  • More intense exercise
  • Prayer/Meditation
  • Talking to a good friend
  • Support group

LEVEL 3

Level 3 is things occurring that are more than annoying and also on a constant basis with no letting up.

Activities that may help at Level 3 are:

  • Extremely intense exercise
  • Support groups meetings on a consistent basis
  • Primary care doctor intervention
  • Psychological intervention with a counseling center, faith based counseling assistance

The important aspect is to recognize what level you may be at and what action to take. Every Wednesday I have what I call #StressCheckWednesday to encourage people to take a moment and take stock and see where their stress level is at.
